There have been rumors that PSN pre-paid cards will be hitting GameStop...in 2009. That's crap. So Sony has announced that in addition to the no-name places that currently have the cards in stock now (Meijer, Speedway, Pamida), the official PLAYSTATION Network cards will be available at three more chains - Blockbuster, 7-Eleven, and Rite-Aid sometime next month. Finally! Places that we've heard of!

Producer Ben Judd recently informed Kotaku that the 1988 SNES remake will be released in the U.S. next month! Bionic Commando Rearmed will arrive at the Xbox Live! Sony held a mid-term strategy conference in Japan yesterday. President of Sony Computer Entertainment, Kaz Hirai revealed the Sony PlayStation 3 video download service. As you can see from the screens, the interface is very similar to the one from the PLAYSTATION Store. That's right. Reader Terry provided these shots to gaming site Kotaku, sighting the pre-paid cards from his local Meijer store. As of now, it has been reported that the PlayStation Network cards are available now at some retail stores in $20 and $50 denominations. Unlike Wii Point cards, PlayStation Network cards only require ONE activation through the register. I can't wait to get mine!

According to PlayStation Beyond, Konami is planning to announce the release of the original Metal Gear Solid on the PLAYSTATION Store sometime next month. In addition, the site claims that Konami will release the first software update for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, allowing crossmediabar (XMB) integration and trophy support.
