There have been rumors that PSN pre-paid cards will be hitting GameStop...in 2009. That's crap. So Sony has announced that in addition to the no-name places that currently have the cards in stock now (Meijer, Speedway, Pamida), the official PLAYSTATION Network cards will be available at three more chains - Blockbuster, 7-Eleven, and Rite-Aid sometime next month. Producer Ben Judd recently informed Kotaku that the 1988 SNES remake will be released in the U.S. next month! Bionic Commando Rearmed will arrive at the Xbox Live! Marketplace on Wednesday, August 13th for 800 Microsoft points. It will also be released at the PLAYSTATION Store on Thursday, August 14th for only $10.
According to the PlayStation Blog, this minor update "improves the playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation format software". No further details were announced at this time.

According to the Konami press conference yesterday, the first expansion will be released...wait for it...TODAY, JULY 17th! Keep your eyes peeled, it should be available for download sometime today. According to Reuters, Electronic Arts signed a deal with MTV to have the entire soundtrack from Madden NFL 09 be available as downloadable content for Rock Band. "Under the deal, 'Rock Band' will feature music from the 'Madden 09' soundtrack in its weekly downloadable songs update, a handful at a time, over several weeks, with each song carrying the 'Madden' brand. Additionally, each soundtrack song will be available for sale via iTunes as part of a special 'Madden' playlist."Reader Max provided gaming site Kotaku with the track list, noting that two songs from the list are already available as Rock Band DLC: "Hammerhead" by The Offspring and "Inside the Fire" by Disturbed.
Konami has just spilled the beans about the first Metal Gear Online expansion dubbed the "Gene Expansion". The expansion will add a Rewards Shop to spend your in-game points on new gear, three new maps, the ability to play as female characters, a new "Survival" mode and two new playable playable characters: Meryl Silverberg and Johnny "Akiba".
