SOCOM: Confrontation Release Date & Prices

On the official SOCOM website, SCEA Director of Development Seth Luisi has announced that SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation will hit shelves in North American retail stores and at the PLAYSTATION Store on October 14th. There will be three versions (and prices) available forthe North American release:

For all of the people who want SOCOM: Confrontation on a disc.  Does not include the headset or the Behind the Scenes videos. 

$39.99       SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation on the PlayStation Network

SOCOM Confrontation downloadable from the PSN without ever leaving your couch. Does not include the headset or the Behind the Scenes videos.

Even though SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Confrontation has been pushed back, the boys at Slant Six are hard at work and these new screens show it.

SOCOM: Confrontation Delayed!

Sorry SOCOM fans, the news broke out yesterday and I didn't wanna ruin the holiday for you. On the official SOCOM.COM site, Seth Luisi (SCEA Director of Development) has announced that the release of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation has been pushed back to Tuesday, October 14th, 2008. Luisi states that it was a "tough decision" for the team at Slant Six, but it was either delay the game or "sacrifice features, quality, and stability".

I kinda of saw this coming when the private beta in the June 2008 edition of Qore was not available. But as a hardcore SOCOM fan, I'd rather have a top-notch next-gen SOCOM game on October 14th than a sh*tty half-assed one in September.

SOCOM: Confrontation Multiplayer Map Flythroughs

GameTrailers has provided us with a close-look at two of the multiplayer maps in the upcoming PS3-exclusive online shooter, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation. The first video introduced one of the new maps for the franchise, called Quarantine, while the second shows a new expanded version of the classic fan-favorite, Crossroads.

Sony's Official Bluetooth Headset for the PlayStation 3

Unveiled on the PlayStation.Blog last Friday, the official Bluetooth Headset for the PlayStation 3 will come with the retail box release of Sony's popular online shooter, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation. The classy headset comes with a nifty dock. If you aren't interested in the game, the headset will be available separately at (I assume) a later date.
