According to Marketing Week, Sony is planning to release the rumored "PlayStation Phone" by next year's holiday season. Oddly enough, this Sony Ericsson "gaming phone" will not carry the PlayStation brand. The site claims that Sony has refused to give the PlayStation brand to Sony Ericsson as a result of their "strategic error” of giving its Walkman brand to Sony Ericsson. The site goes on revealing that sources in Japan and Korea say that Sony working on converting the current PlayStation Portable (PSP) model into a phone. Analysts believe that since the PSP has already intergrated Wi-Fi, the conversion should be fairly easy. Keep your fingers crossed, Sony fans!Note: Don't get too excited.
